Match Day 6

Osiris was searching to regain its form, its winning streak. Unfortunately, that quest of theirs was thwarted by Unido FC.

Osiris was undone by Unido’s targetman within the first ten minutes. A free kick, carelessly conceded by Clarence Chew just 25 metres out, was executed superbly. Osiris keeper Ng Tze How had a hand to it but the power of the shot was too much for him to handle, and Ng palmed the ball into the top corner of the goal. The dreadful mistake had Osiris one-nil down in an instant.

Osiris braced itself to fight for an equalizer. Just moments from the break, a toe-poke cross by right-mid Victor Lee, which initially seemed like a flop, curled outwards and went straight to the keeper. It proved to be an incisive pass threaded to striker Colin Wong, who beat the offside trap, was quickest to the ball and nodded it past the keeper. That leveled things up for Osiris, leaving the game open for either side to grab a winner. Soon after, it was half-time.

The second half started, and Unido was on the prowl for the winning goal. Passes were mostly targeted at Unido’s lanky centre forward. Naturally, this was the case as he was the team’s most prolific striker. However, James Zhu and Victor Shi, Osiris’ sturdy center-halves, cut out any chance that he may have made.

There was not much going on throughout the match. Series of passes were made by both teams but no result arose. The attacks were put to a stop by defenders of both sides at the last third of the pitch.

Alas, the game ended with both teams sharing the spoils, each grabbing one point each.
